The Link Research Project:
Understanding the link between child maltreatment
and woman battering
This Website is devoted to up-to-date information on current research and intervention with families experiencing both child maltreatment and woman battering. In addition the project aims to link both research and practice to develop collaborative multi-disciplinary models for working with families experiencing both forms of abuse. Faculty at the University of Minnesota School of Social Work are conducting a series of studies of families in which women have been abused and had children who may have been exposed to the violence. The studies seek to understand how forms of violence develop in families and how both informal and formal social systems respond.
Los Angeles Commission Against Assaults on Women (LACAAW)
The Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women (LACAAW) has been awarded a grant by the California Department of Health Services to create linkages between youth service providers throughout the state regarding teen dating violence prevention. The goal of TAPNet (Teen Abuse Prevention Network) is to increase the knowledge and ability of those working with youth on this issue, and to facilitate collaboration on a statewide level for teen relationship violence prevention. LACAAW’s Project TAP (Teen Abuse Prevention) is a culturally sensitive violence prevention outreach program that educates teens throughout Los Angeles County. The project seeks to empower local communities through education, support, and counseling networks for a wide variety of teens-from those in "mainstream" middle and high school settings to youth identified as "high risk" for violence, including incarcerated, pregnant/parenting, and homeless youth. One component of program is the innovative curriculum, In Touch with Teens. This comprehensive eight-unit curriculum (with activities in both English and Spanish) covers everything from global and local roots of violence to prevention of rape, domestic violence and sexual harassment. Catalog of materials can be accessed on-line.

National Network to End Domestic Violence
The National Network to End Domestic Violence is a membership and advocacy organization state domestic violence coalitions. The NNEDV began in 1990 as a small working group of state domestic violence coalitions and national domestic violence advocates. Today, the NNEDV is a leading voice among domestic violence advocates in public policy. More recently, the NNEDV has spearheaded efforts through its sister organization, the National Network to End Domestic Violence FUND to provide more direct support to local programs and coalitions through information, research, funding, and training.

Gay Men Domestic Violence Project (GMDVP)
The Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project is a grassroots, non-profit organization providing community education and direct services for clients.
